Red, green, brown and now, back to red. Whatever the motive
remained behind painting different colours for buses during different terms of
TN govt. The newly introduced fleet of bright red Ashok Leyland buses have
definitely caught the attention of even non-users of MTC.
Here are some of the distinct features:
1.
Easy to hop-on & hop-off - The ground clearance
of footboard is almost on par with the shuttle buses found in airports
2.
Loud door alarm – as long as the doors are open
the alarm rings loudly – well thought out feature – to wake commuters up from
stupor
3.
Pleasant engine sound – the engine sound is as
euphonious as those of plush intercity buses
4.
More legroom – passengers no longer have to sit
with widely stretched legs
5.
Non-reflective, slightly tainted glasses – as
the glasses resemble those found in Araku Valley Vistadome coach, you can now
have a panoramic view of the city instead of ogling at the women J Besides, we can have an
unobstructed glance of the bus stops
6.
Fixed grab handles – Thankfully the grab handles
don’t move along the rod above. Nor do you with every jerk due to gear shift or
application of brakes
7.
Brightly lit cabin – LED lights illuminate the
cabin akin to that of the bus seen in Prabhu Deva’s Oorvasi song
8.
Safety first – hammer is placed near certain windows to break open & exit in times of emergency
So, what are you waiting for? Take a ride in the MTC bus before
they become old & decrepit.
Looking forward to take a ride 😊 .
